Rockies Road to Last Place Begins Today

Enter the optimism Rocky fans, your team has an unblemished record -- for now. Because Wednesday at 1:05pm in Tucson, that will all change. That's when the Rockies and White Sox open up Cactus League play at Tucson Electric Park. Apparently Aaron Cook will throw for the Rox against Mark Buehrle of the White Sox. Aaron Cook opening up your Spring Training season, that's a great start. Why not show up for a gun fight with a super-soaker while you're at it?

See, there was a time when the Rockies actually had a chance in the division. Unfortunately, those times have long since passed. It's nothing personal against the Rox -- I happen to love Garrett Atkins and Matt Holliday -- not to mention Jeff Francis and Brian Fuentes -- but nine years of 4th and 5th place finishes in the division tend to jade you a little bit.

Look at the brightside Colorado fans, at least you'll have a head start on the cellar.
