Vlad Rad's Lie Cost Him Some Money

The little tale that Vladimir Radmanovich told the Lakers a few days ago is going to hurt his wallet. In a decision that should surprise absolutely no one, the team (though not saying how much for) has decided to fine him for lying, but consider the matter resolved. This is good news for Radmanovic, since there was a small possibility that they would void his contract when the truth about his injury came out.
"We discussed internally among our coach, ownership and management a variety of disciplinary options and thought that this was the fairest and most appropriate action," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said.

"We consider this a closed issue now and look forward to Vlade's return to action where he'll be able to use his talents to help our team."
I'm not really sure if Kupchak is talking about Vlad Rad's basketball talents or his ability to concoct an implausible story when he says they're looking forward to his return. Either way, the team can't be looking forward to having him back that much.

The guy has regressed badly from last season's stint with the rival Clippers; he is scoring nearly 4 points less per game, grabbing 2 fewer boards per night, and his three point shooting (the main reason the Lakers signed him) is down 10%. At least his beard is awesome. He's got that going for him.
