The Dallas Cowboys sign offensive lineman Leonard Davis to a 7-year deal worth $50M....with $18M of that guaranteed. Davis has spent his previous six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

Davis was a priority for Dallas, as he is versatile. He's played both guard and tackle in his career and Dallas may need him to do one or the other....as they aren't sure if they can get Marc Colombo resigned and how Marco Rivera recovers from back surgery.

From the Dallas Morning News:

The question now is what position will Davis play, guard or tackle? The Cowboys have not had much progress in talks with the agent for Colombo on a long-term deal, which means Davis could play right tackle. Assistant head coach Tony Sparano is high on two young guards, Cory Procter and Joe Berger, in case Rivera is unable to return.
Davis was an All-American at the University of Texas and was the #2 pick in the 2001 draft. He also was a target of the Cowboys biggest rival, the Washington Redskins.
