The Dolphins are very interested in former Steelers linebacker Joey Porter, but the three-time Pro Bowler has yet to decide where he will end up in 2007. With multiple teams still in the mix, the Dolphins appear to be among the main contenders for one of free agency's remaining top-tier players. In addition to Miami, the three AFC North teams wouldn't mind having Porter, and this report suggests the Bakersfield, California native expressed interest in playing for the Chargers.
San Diego already has Shawne Merriman and Shaun Phillips at outside linebacker, but Porter would certainly make one of the league's best defenses even better. Another destination could be San Francisco, a team that runs the 3-4 defense and is in need of an outside linebacker to play opposite 2006 first-rounder Manny Lawson. Porter won't make Adalius Thomas-type money, but he will probably command $5-$6 million per season.
