The stories that get written during spring training are always amusing. Everyone wants to talk about baseball, but no one ever has much of anything to say. Exhibition games only go so far, and eventually we've got nothing left to read but articles involving Cardinals reliever Tyler Johnson and his nipple rings. Tyler Johnson was once perceived as all nipple piercings, tattoos and lefthanded attitude.
He still has the piercings and the tattoos.
He's dropped the attitude.
By my count, Johnson is the second player in the NL Central on which his tattoos are a bigger focus than his baseball (behind Josh Hamilton) and also the second player in the division who has arbitrarily matured based on the whims of a sportswriter (behind Adam Dunn). Luckily for him, he's the first player whose nipple rings have been mentioned in the first paragraph of an article about him. Is spring training over yet?
