Barry Bonds Might Not Be Choking But He'll Be Coughing

Barry Bonds watch part 83 is in session. Over the weekend I told you that the entire Giants roster was affected by the flu floating around the clubhouse. Now, it seems like Barry Bonds is sick with something worse

Barry Bonds still looked ill, but nonetheless returned to work after missing two days with an apparent case of bronchitis. "I haven't been that sick since I was a child," Bonds said, reporting he had a high fever, chills and night sweats that soaked his bed sheets.

Yeah, like we're really supposed to believe that man-stud Bonds has his bed soaked from chills. We really know how his bed gets moist (insert Debbie Does Dallas music here).

For the concerned Giants fans out there, a little bit of handy research at the ever-reliable wikipedia says bronchitis comes in two forms, acute and chronic. Although I'm not sure which type Barry Bonds has, expect a lot of coughing, wheezing, and sneezing that usually lasts around 10-11 days.

Bottom line, this is Barry Bonds we're talking about. Barry freakin' Bonds. The dude's a gamer. If knee ligaments hanging onto his leg by dental floss can't keep him out of the lineup, then don't expect a measly cough to keep Barry from chasing 755.

UPDATE: The bronchitis didn't keep Bonds from going 2-3 with 2RBI today, his first hits of spring training.
