A tiny recap of yesterday's spring training games...
Maybe his wife should give birth more often.
At home tending to his wife giving birth to a baby girl, Brian Schneider missed the Nationals' last three games. He returned to go 2-for-2 with a double, a homer and four RBIs. The Nationals still lost to the Braves though, 10-6.
Hey, Barry finally got a hit.
Still feeling a wee bit weary from the flu, Barry Bonds got his first hits of the spring. He went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in San Fransisco's 8-4 win against the Angels. He also hit third, something manager Bruce Bochey said Barry will probably continue to do through the remainder of the spring and into the season.
Sweet LaRue!
Jason LaRue pounded out two homers for the Royals in their 3-2 win against the A's. Mike Piazza got beamed during the game.
He got it pretty good," said Piazza, who initially put a thick bag of ice on his elbow. "I'm just going to ice it again, see how it feels and go from there. If everything's all right, I'm sure it will calm down in a day or two."What a trooper.
The Reds are undefeated. I repeat. The Reds are undefeated.
Yes, I know it's only spring training, but Cincinnati improved its record to 6-0 after defeating the Devil Rays 3-1. This is the Reds best start since they moved to Sarasota in 1998. Watch out for the Big Red Machine, Mr. World Series.
