Forbes' big annual list of really rich people has plenty of NBA action, as one would expect.Blazers owner Paul Allen tops the NBA list with $16 billion in net worth, according to Forbes. Miami's Mickey Arison, Detroit's Bill Davidson, Orlando's Rick DeVos, and Dallas' Mark Cuban follow.
Names you may be surprised don't make the billionaire cut: the Maloofs, for one. Constantly referred to as 'billionaire playboys' by the Sacramento media, neither brother gets on the list. The family as a whole, of course, $1 billion in net worth, but it's a big family.
The NBA's newest majority owner, Clay Bennett, doesn't make the cut either. One of his minority owners, though -- energy mogul Aubrey McClendon -- is the 215th richest America, with a net worth of $1.6 billion. (He's been criticized for how he's spent some of that wealth.) Bennett's Seattle predecessor, Starbucks honcho Howard Schultz, does make the list though, at #354.
Only Portland's Allen eclipses Nike chief Phil Knight among those with ties to the league: Knight ranked #30 on the All-America list with a net worth of $7.9 billion.
