I know that a lot of people assume that the NBA is one big non-stop party. You know, half-ass a game, hit the club, lay back in the V.I.P., cheat on your wife every night. But from the Akron Beacon-Journal, here's a sobering glimpse into the baller's life on the road:
Believe it or not, Milwaukee has become a favorite spot on the NBA road for players. The reason? A full-service Indian casino just outside downtown that has become a popular destination. With no team in New Orleans for the past two years, Milwaukee is the only city on the NBA circuit with a casino so close to where the players stay and play.I'm sorry, but that's just depressing. An Indian casino is one of the league's most-covered nightspots? I guess gambling is fun, and sometimes you need more than a casual game of cards. But this is one of the factoids that makes you realized what an ordinary grind the NBA life can be. Sometimes, they just want to play roulette with old ladies and tourists, and I guess there's nothing wrong with that.
Or maybe this is evidence that all these professional thugz are also degenerate gamblers. So frightfully determined that they'll brave even the most mundane of settings. Yeah, that's probably it.
