There's a growing perception among Jaguars fans that Byron Leftwich is... well, a little tubby. Those fans don't like the idea of a Sean May clone at quarterback.

Well, if what Fred Taylor said last weekend is true, Leftwich may be working hard to shed that spare tire after all. According to the Jacksonville running back:
"Byron is preparing himself right now to get back out there on the field. I think he'll come back slimmed down, in good shape. When the guys on the team realize what he's sacrificing right now,
they'll respect him a lot more."
Taylor knows a little something himself about offseason workouts. After a subpar 2005 season, Taylor began an extreme offseason diet and exercise regimen, which many credit for his turnaround in 2006. Maurice Jones-Drew was so impressed that he decided to emulate Taylor's workout program this year. Has Leftwich jumped on this bandwagon as well? If so, keeping Taylor in Jacksonville looks like an even better idea now, and it was a pretty good idea in the first place.
