The final score was Boston College 84, Texas Tech 75, and although the game was closer than I expected, it's yet another quick tournament exit for Tech coach Bob Knight, the winningest coach in men's basketball history.

Toward the end of the game, CBS announcer Dick Enberg was suggesting that it's possible Knight could have coached his last game, discussing the way the stresses of coaching are wearing Knight down after 41 years in the business.

Although it seems quite unlikely that Knight's career is really over, Enberg said Knight told him there's no way he could coach for five more years. I have a hard time knowing when Knight is worn down by the stresses of coaching and when he's just his perpetually angry self, but it's worth considering that his career must be close to finished.

We'll let you know if Knight has anything of interest to say at his post-game press conference.

UPDATE: At the press conference Knight said he's looking forward to next season and mentioned the strong recruiting class he has coming in. He didn't have any temper tantrums, but answer a question about whether he would have liked to have seen his team play more aggressively with, "Well, yeah. I'd like to see it rain dollar bills, too."
