Technical Glitch in Buffalo Deprives CBS Viewers of HD

The CBS broadcast of the Old Dominion-Butler game temporarily went dark as technical difficulties in Buffalo forced the network to switch to its studio and then to other games. Whatever problems they were having were fixed fairly quickly.

But one glitch didn't get fixed: The game is now not being broadcast in high-definition. That's a big deal to people who bought their high-def televisions mostly because they wanted to watch sports, and high-definition was a major selling point for the premium package that CBS offers which allows viewers to watch all four games going on at any given time.

Worst of all, the technical difficulties didn't stop CBS from reading its promo saying "today's game is brought to you in HD by Harris Corporation." Um, yeah.

UPDATE: With three minutes left in the first half, the HD feed kicked back in.
