As slinky Virginia Commonwealth point guard Eric Maynor repeatedly abused Duke's Greg Paulus - and whomever else wanted to get crossed up - in the final minutes of the Rams' scintillating upset of the Blue Devils, I couldn't help but think, 'Dang, Maynor looks a lot like a blend of Stephon Marbury and Jason Terry.'

Hence the photo of Marbury and Terry (from 2004, when JT was buried in purgatory, er, Atlanta). Maynor's body frame is much like Terry's - lithe and elastic-like, yet durable. His first step is a lethal crossover, much like Marbury had during his early years.

This is not to say that with some three-point work, Maynor will be the next [enter name here], but at this point in his development, that's who he reminds me of. Just a sophomore, Maynor's got the quick hands of a pest on defense (ask George Mason about this), and he's mostly unstoppable on offense.

While I'm at it - Maynor vs. Paulus is another example why nobody should put any stock in McDonald's All-Americans. Though Paulus had one of his best scoring games of his career against VCU, he's not nearly the player Maynor is at either end of the floor.
