For the Minnesota Timberwolves, their season will probably come down to how well they do on the 5-game road trip they're currently on. Since new coach Randy Wittman took over, the Wolves have only gone 8-15, but somehow they remain right in the thick of things.
"Even though we've been playing bad, we're still right there," Ricky Davis said. "So I guess it's meant to be. I think it can make us or break us. ... Five games. Hopefully we go 3-2 at the worst."

"We have an opportunity, on this trip, to make some noise," Wittman said. "Obviously, you have to win on the trip to make that noise. We just need to out and win games."
Last night, things got off to a rough start as they were destroyed by the G-State Warriors. It doesn't get any easier as they go up against Kobe and the Lakers tomorrow night, followed by a tough back-to-back in Phoenix and Sacramento. The road trip will finally conclude with a very winnable game in Seattle next Friday.

The Wolves--owners of a pathetic 9-22 road record--think they can make the postseason. One and a half game out of playoff contention in the West, their work has been cut out for them.
