We have some new information on the Joey Porter-Levi Jones fight in Vegas. Las Vegas police cited Porter for misdemeanor battery after he punched Jones in the face at a blackjack table. The police said Porter, a former Steelers linebacker who recently signed with the Dolphins, and Jones, a Bengals tackle, have "a history of trash talking on the field." Doesn't Porter have a history of trash talking on the field with just about every player in the AFC North?
According to a Vegas TV station, you don't get cited in Vegas for a fight unless a police officer actually sees it. So let that be a lesson: If you're going to get into a fight at a casino, look around to make sure no cops are watching.
Both players have some history of fights. Jones was arrested in 2004 for trying to take a baton away from a police officer who was breaking up a bar fight. And Porter was once kicked out of a game before it started for a pre-game fight.
Although the NFL schedule has not been released, the Bengals do play at Miami in 2007. Jones and Porter will likely go head-to-head many times. I highly recommend the league put that one on national television.
