It was announced on Tuesday that the Dodgers will pick up manager Grady Little's option for 2008, and that they added a team option for 2009 as well. GM Ned Colletti seems pleased with Little's managerial skills thus far (which is more than I can say for some other people)"Grady has shown invaluable leadership and proven that he understands what it takes to win ... We have established a very strong relationship in a short amount of time, and I'm very pleased to know that he'll continue to play an integral role in the future of this organization."As incredible as it is to fathom, Little has the highest career winning percentage (.568) amongst current managers. Perhaps even more shocking is the fact that I think it was a good move.
Apparently I'm not alone in my thoughts:
"I hope and pray that he'll be managing the Dodgers for many years to come," Tommy Lasorda said. "I told the players, 'If you don't like this guy, you don't like Christmas or Easter."Luckily I don't celebrate either.
