It was just recently brought to my attention that Rockies infielder Kaz Matsui sports toe socks. And anytime a professional athlete and my five year old cousin have something in common, it's worth a mention. As told in the Rockies official site:Matsui insists upon socks that have slots for the toes, the way gloves have them for fingers.I guess the interpreter wasn't slick enough to translate "foot fingers" to toes -- which is what we call them in English. And in case you were wondering -- the photo to the right comes from my cousin's collection.
"I wear those so I can feel my foot fingers move," Matsui said in Japanese through his interpreter.
You can also see what one of Matsui's custom made socks looks like from a previous MLB auction in which his it for $21.00.
