GQ magazine got some athletes to review some fancy restaurant. Boston's Delonte West was one of them. In an item in Mark Murphy's notes column for the Boston Herald, Mr. West talks about his culinary experience and foreshadows a career in modeling. (Yes, 'Delonte West: Model.' Prepare thyselves, world.)Sullivan at I *Heart* Celtics has the best reaction in the basketblogosphere:
"Not since Dwayne Schintzius left the Celtics to become a male model in Lithuania has such an unattractive Celtic ventured into the dangerous waters of modeling."Physical beauty aside, Mr. West was clearly the best choice to provide a discerning palate for fine dining. In a Valentine's Day 2006 feature on ESPN.com, the Celtic revealed his romantic meal of choice:
"When we're on the yacht eating, we're going to have some Popeyes chicken. [...] But that's just getting it on her mind, saying, you know, 'Yeah, I can wine and dine you, but I'm a little rough around the edges and I'm keeping it real with you. I can be romantic, but this is real, we're going to eat some chicken tonight. Chicken and biscuits.'"Forget MySpace -- someone needs to dig up Delonte's Chowhound username. Bet dude's got mad secrets on the best Boston eats. Giada DeLaurentwho?
