SNL Axed Manning Joke About Tom Brady's Fatherhood

As we previously noted, Peyton Manning's Saturday Night Live Monologue included a joke that Manning said was told to him by a Patriots fan: "What do Tom Brady and the circus have in common? They both have two more rings than you do." You can watch the monologue below:

But according to DanShanoff.com, that joke was tweaked during rehearsals. A Shanoff reader who was in attendance at dress rehearsals says the original joke went like this:

during Peyton's monologue, Amy Poeler was dressed in a Patriots jersey and heckled Peyton, saying "What does Tom Brady and the Circus have in common? They both have two more rings than you."
Peyton stared right back and said, "That's not the ONLY thing he'll have two more of....."

In case you don't get it, the point of that joke is that Brady was rumored to be having two kids on the way, one with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan and one with current girlfriend Gisele Bundchen. As it turns out, Bundchen isn't really pregnant, and the joke isn't really all that funny, and it's probably just as well that Manning didn't tell the joke, seeing as we'd then have to hear it repeated 1,000 times before the next Colts-Patriots game.
