According to the Associated Press, the New Jersey Devils (read: Lou Lamoriello) have fired head coach Claude Julien and replaced him behind the bench with... general manager Lou Lamoriello.The Devils are currently in first place in the Atlantic Division, second place in the Eastern Conference, and have won four of their last five games as they're finally getting healthy and ready for another playoff run.
But, of course, moves like this are nothing new for Lou. As the AP recounts:
Monday's firing isn't the only time Lamoriello made a late-season coaching move. He fired Robby Ftorek late in the 2002-2003 season and Robinson eventually led the team to its third Stanley Cup since 1995.Hey, if it worked once...
