Name a sport, and you can find a Seinfeld episode that references it.

Baseball: Elaine swapped spit with Keith Hernandez (and so did Kramer and Newman, if you believe in the Magic Loogie Theory).

Basketball: Kramer started a fight that got Reggie Miller ejected against the Knicks, helping Jerry win a big bet.

Hockey: Puddy painted his face to support the Devils, but switched to painting his chest when Elaine objected.

Boxing: George told his boss he looked like Sugar Ray Leonard.

Golf: Stan the Caddy helped Kramer's golf game but ruined the lawsuit against Sue Ellen Mischke.

Tennis: Jerry bought a racket from Milosh but regretted it when he saw Milosh play.

But despite all the Seinfeld episodes that featured sports, there were precious few mentions of football. Yes, Elaine went to a Giants game with Joel Rifkin, but that's about it. So it's a bit of a surprise to learn that Seinfeld co-creator Larry David is a huge football fan.

How huge? According to NFL Network, David has been peppering Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum and coach Eric Mangini with his opinions about the Jets' draft needs. Last year, David called the Jets' front office and suggested that they should trade up to select quarterback Vince Young. Although the Jets ignored that suggestion, the NFL Network report said that this year, the Jets' staff actually took the time to talk to David.

One piece of advice to the Jets: Developing a relationship with Larry David is fine, but if you ever give him a sideline pass, don't let him get too close. He might stick his legs out and trip Chad Pennington.
