Consider this a public service announcement: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not take Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson with the fourth pick in the draft. I know, that flies in the face of conventional wisdom: This site combines 38 different mock drafts and shows that 25 of them having Johnson going fourth overall to the Bucs. But that's just not realistic. NFL scouts are in love with Johnson. At least three-fourths of NFL teams have Johnson first overall on their draft boards. There's just no way a guy like that lasts until the fourth pick.
So what will happen with Johnson on draft day? Someone is going to trade into the top 3 to take him. I don't think the top 2 teams, Oakland and Detroit, are planning to draft him (although the Lions think the Raiders will take Johnson), but I do think both teams will field trade offers, and either one of them or the Browns, picking third, will find those offers too appealing to turn down. If the Bucs want Johnson, they need to trade up.
