Josh Howard Injures Ankle In Loss To Denver

Dirk Nowitzki mentioned earlier that he had hoped he was getting all of the bad luck out of the way before the playoffs. He had food poisoning and an ankle injury over the last week, and last night's game in Denver was the first one he played in five days. If the bad luck does have to continue before the playoffs, then Josh Howard's ankle injury last night was right on schedule.

It looked like he rolled it pretty good, and Howard seemed unsure as to how long this injury would set him back:

"It was bad enough that I couldn't come back. It's the same thing as it was before, in my Achilles. It just got rolled again."

Without Howard and with a rusty Nowitzki, the Mavericks' offense was just slightly more horrible than the Nuggets', and Denver ended up with the 75-71 victory to avoid being swept in the season series.
