Al Sharpton Not Buying Don Imus Apology
But afterward, Imus appeared on Al Sharpton's radio show, and the transcript of that interview shows that Imus has a long way to go before many people will believe that he was sincere in his apology. Sharpton continues to call for Imus to be fired.
To me, Imus looks and sounds less like someone who's genuinely sorry than like someone who's desperately trying to hold onto his job. His show is so popular that I doubt he'll be fired, but his reputation has taken a huge hit, and he deserves that hit.
UPDATE: Watch video of Imus's appearance on Al Sharpton's show.
