Star Magazine isn't exactly the New York Times, but then again being wrong about celebrity gossip isn't exactly as serious as being wrong about weapons of mass destruction. I say that as a caveat before I note the rumor, which first appeared in Star, that Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and singer Carrie Underwood are planning to get married. The couple, who started dating soon after the Country Music Award-winning singer appeared at a Cowboys game to sing the "Star Spangled Banner" on Thanksgiving Day in 2005, plan to marry on, Thanksgiving! "Tony's family all loved Carrie and told him not to let this one get away,' says an insider. "And he's not."
Of course, that report is factually inaccurate in at least one respect: It was Thanksgiving 2006, not 2005, when Underwood sang the National Anthem before a Cowboys game. And as long as Romo is a Cowboy, he'll be playing on Thanksgiving, making it unlikely he'd get married on Turkey Day.
Oh, one more thing: Romo and Underwood have repeatedly denied that they're even dating, let alone getting married. So this sounds like a long shot. But we'll keep you posted.
