According to the scintillating Erin Andrews of sideline ESPN reporter fame, Jason Giambi has been texting the heck out of Roger Clemens trying to get him to join the Yankees. Here is the transcript of her report, gleaned from this video.
Well, Jason Giambi is working very hard to get Roger Clemens back to the New York Yankees. He's working with the Rocket's good friend Andy Pettite making sure Clemens is getting text messages and voicemails saying "When are you coming, we need you."

Of course, it was Roger Clemens who recruited Jason Giambi to the New York Yankees; they were even locker mates for a couple of years. And after the Yankees were swept at Fenway this past weekend, Jason Giambi told me his latest text message to the Rocket: "Hurry up."
I'm not even going to get too much into the Clemens side of things, because I've already documented his heroism overt selfishness and seemingly nonsensical approach to returning to the game. However, I will speak to the Yankees side of this. I couldn't think of a better move for the Bronx Bombers at the moment. Assuming Clemens still has his stuff, they could really use a spark to their starting staff at the moment -- considering injuries and ineffectiveness made them call up phenom Philip Hughes for Thursday's start.

Clemens did say he wasn't going to make a decision until May, which is rapidly approaching on us. So, he may be in Yankee pinstripes sooner than later. Or he may not play this year. Or he may go to the Red Sox or Astros. Or he may just watch his son play in the minor leagues. Or he may just sit around and chill. Who knows, really.
