The Fanhouse's look at the day's most intriguing matchups
Tampa Bay Devil Rays (8-11) vs. New York Yankees (8-10)-7:10PM Est.
The Yankees pitching staff gets a much needed boost tonight when Chien Ming-Wang makes his first start of the season. If Wang can't help the Yankees get a win against the D-Rays tonight Yankee fans will have to suffer the embarrassment of seeing Tampa Bay written above New York in the AL East standings. Can Wang and the Rod save New York?
Arizona Diamondbacks (10-10) vs. San Diego Padres (11-8)-9:40PM Est.
Speaking of Wangs and Rods, the Big Unit makes his return in the desert tonight. Never has baseball been so phallic. Johnson will be needed by the Snakes as they look to get out of their current four-game win streak. David Wells will start for the Padres and looks to prove he's the best ancient southpaw on the mound tonight. Somewhere Tom Glavine is smirking.
St. Louis Cardinals (8-10) vs. Cincinnati Reds (9-10)-8:10PM Est.
The middle of the Cardinals order finally came to life on Sunday against the Cubs. Tonight they return home where they look to keep producing and get the defending champs on their way over .500. Kip Wells could use the offensive support seeing as how he's 1-3 but has a 3.12 ERA. It won't be easy as the Reds send their ace Aaron Harang to the rubber.
