The Memphis Commercial-Appeal's Ron Tillery is reporting that Larry Brown will meet with Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley today to discuss the Memphis coaching vacancy.

Brown comes up in every vacancy, but I hadn't heard him connected to Memphis before. Philadelphia, Charlotte... those rumors were common. LB in Memphis? It sounds weird at first, but it starts to make sense when you think about it.

Brown needs to have his hand in personnel decisions. Memphis has a lot of personnel decisions to make -- what to do with Pau? Give Kyle Lowry the point guard job or find a veteran? Who to draft? I could a Brown being paired with an impressionable, non-proud GM. But the most discussed GM candidate has been Kiki Vandeweghe, and Kiki isn't a guy I'd imagine would want to take marching orders from a coach.
