"It was too long," Ordonez said. "Out of control."Leyland, of course, is more than a curious bystander in all of this -- he's already on the record saying he'll wash Magglio's hair for him if he hits .300 this year -- so despite his show of faux-concern he's probably thinking the shorter, the better. Fortunately for the Tigers, Magglio didn't come down with a Samson complex: he still collected four hits, all of the "extra-base" variety, over the weekend, bringing his average to .336 on the year.
His wife's decision?
"No, mine." he said. ... "I couldn't fit it all under my hat," he said.
So it was time -- and, of course, he was getting kidded for it before Friday night's game.
"Don't worry, Maggs," said manager Jim Leyland. "We'll get the guy who did this to you."
