Did you know that Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora is actually quite funny? Of course not, because up until this offseason, he had refused to talk to the media. However, that unwritten personal law is long gone and Umenyiora always seems to have something funny to say.

This morning, Chief Umenyiora greeted reporters with a rather hilarious written statement.

"I, Chief Osi Umenyiora, have officially declared myself to be the best defensive end in the NFL. To prove that fact, I will have one of the best seasons ever by a defensive end. If not, I will jump off the George Washington Bridge. I do not want to jump off the George Washington Bridge because it would be detrimental to my health. Thanks for listening," he said.
As a Giants fan, I sure wouldn't want him jumping off the George Washington Bridge either so let's hope he performs at a record breaking level.

All jokes aside, it's nice to see Giants players in a fun-loving mood this year. After all the trouble and turmoil they faced last season, a chance-of-pace is certainly needed.
