Since he feels that his team lost two home runs in three games because of bad calls by umpires. While Hurdle feels balls and strikes should be left up to the human element of umpires, he would like instant replay to review controversial home runs.
"It's a very difficult call and my point of contention is it either is or is not a home run," Hurdle said. "I don't think that's an area where the umpires' discretion should be involved."

Hurdle said he has examples of other homers that have been lost the last few seasons. He believes they're often the result of more fan-friendly ballparks with paying customers closer to the action.
Considering I've always been a fan of instant replay for all sports, I think this is a good idea. But only for the purpose Hurdle describes -- to rule on controversial home runs. The rest of the time I feel as most people do, that umpires do a good job of calling the game. (The dropped third strike call in Game 2 between the Angels and White Sox notwithstanding.)
