Yesterday, Curt Schilling
went off on Barry Bonds, accusing him of adultery, steroid use,
human trafficking, tax evasion, and of generally being a terrible human being. Schilling was then of course ripped apart in the blogosphere (and elsewhere) for his comments, and today he realized the error of his ways. From
38 pitches.com:
Regardless of my opinions, thoughts and beliefs on anything Barry Bonds it was absolutely irresponsible and wrong to say what I did.
It was a callous, wreckless and irresponsible thing to say, and for that I apologize to Barry, Barry's family, Barry's friends and the Giants organization as well as anyone else that may have been offended by the comments I made.
While I admire Curt for stepping up and apologizing, isn't it a little presumptuous of him to assume that Barry Bonds and his family read his blog? What, he couldn't find Barry's phone number so he had to blog an apology? If you're interested, there's also some stuff about the Bible in the rest of Curt's post, but I couldn't get through all of it because my eyes started bleeding.
