In the last few days, there has been some talk about Shaquille O'Neal possibly being on the trading block this summer. Anyone with half a brain knows that Shaq isn't going anywhere. He's nearly impossible to trade due to his massive contract and that fact that he's clearly on the downslope of his legendary career. Today, Miami Heat head coach Pat Riley came out and tried to put an end to the baseless rumors. From the Associated Press:
"Amongst growing speculation in the media, in reference to Shaq, I want to set the record straight and say that we are not trading Shaq," Riley said.Hold on a sec there, Riles. There hasn't been any growing speculation in the media about the possibility of Shaq getting traded; there has been growing speculation in the playground that is Sam Smith's mind about Shaq getting traded. Just wait until you read tomorrow's column about Dwyane Wade going to the Lakers for Kobe and Phil Jackson's entire book collection. It's going to be an absolutely delightful read.
