Dis sorta thing used to be civilized.

Alright, that might be a little dramatic. But like or hate the Raiders, you had to respect the way the team conducted its business. Players and coaches were loyal to the organization. Hell, John Madden hasn't been directly tied to the Raiders in 100 years and he is still loyal. The Raiders were run like a mob organization. Nobody showed disrespect or they were shown the door.

So it is no surprise that the Raiders fired personnel executive Mike Lombardi on Wednesday. Lombardi made the egregious error of taking his feud with Art Shell public when he leaked rumors to the media about the embattled head coach and his Inn Keeper of an offensive coordinator. Right or wrong on Shell, you just don't do that sort of thing in the Raiders organization. And the Raiders held Lombardi on the team long enough so he couldn't get a job with another team this season.

That's just cold blooded, man. But you can make fun of the virility of Davis all you would like, you still don't cross this man.
