ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that Dolphins running back Ricky Williams tested positive for marijuana in April, which means he will not be reinstated next week, as he had hoped. Mortensen reports that Williams can apply for reinstatement in September, but it's hard to believe that would happen: Does commissioner Roger Goodell really plan to allow Williams back in the game when he's been banned for a year and still hasn't quit smoking pot?
Williams spent the last year playing in Canada while serving an NFL suspension. He turns 30 this month, and his age and today's news make it a good bet that he will never play in the NFL again.
