After the Spurs and Suns split two games in Phoenix, the scene now shifts to San Antonio for Game 3. All of the talk after the Suns' Game 2 victory has been about Amare's accusations that Bruce Bowen and the rest of the Spurs are dirty. Video evidence suggests that Bowen is at least, um, less than clean at times on defense.
The Spurs, being the
- Don't know about you all, but I'm a huge fan of this lower camera angle. Especially in HD, really gives you a better perspective and a feeling like you're in the arena.
- Parker opens the game guarding Nash. Talk about speed versus speed, this should be fun to watch.
- Shawn Marion hits a three, welcome to the offensive end of this series, 'Trix.
- Definitely goal-tending there, and for the most part Spurs fans know their basketball. Only a few half-hearted boos in protest. If this was Utah, there would have been a near riot and a loud AWWWWW BOOOOOOO!!
- Jon Barry's correct as he laughingly tells Thomas to "shoot the J, Kurt." Thomas off the dribble is something the Spurs would love to see more of.
- Timmy came to play tonight. A strong dunk there, a long bank shot earlier, nine early points.
- Now just as I compliment him, Duncan has to go and start bitching about an obvious foul on Amare. Whiny Tim in full effect.
- More discussion on the "dirty" play from Bowen. I've discussed Bowen's tactics at length, bottom line is that I don't think he's trying to hurt people necessarily. I think he is trying to intimidate though by making players think twice about going up in the air on him.
- OH, Soudemire hammers Finley there. Wonder if the Spurs will look to retaliate later.
- The dirty chant from the fans for Amare, but they're doing it while Finley's at the foul line. They should wait until Stoudemire's at the line, maybe those fans aren't as bright as I thought.
- Well, no Amare for a while, he just picked up his second foul. THAT's when you chant at someone, Sours fan, when they're walking to the bench.
- Diaw with a couple of nice plays in a row, maybe he got a little action from his best friend's girl before the game.
- Suns defense is impressive, blocking everything inside right now. Honestly, the Spurs are playing kind of stupid on offense, forcing shots instead of running things through Timmy like they were earlier.
- Classic Ginobili there, behind-the-back dribble then flailing to the basket for the layup. Luckily for fans in the first row, there were no Suns nearby so Manu didn't have the chance to flop.
- Two nice plays from Oberto, first the pass then the shot. Just as I was about to criticize the Suns for letting the Spurs close it up to end the quarter, Barbosa gets the and-1 opportunity. He definitely plays faster than I can type.
- Suns shoot 60% (wow!) from the field and lead 30-25 after one.
