As some of you out there may already be privy to, Rollie Fingers owes the state of Wisconsin a boatload of money. Strictly speaking income taxes, he is the state's No. 1 tax delinquent to the tune of $1,462,679.30 owed. (As of Monday.)

Today, Milwaukeeworld (who first reported this story) digs a bit deeper into just how Fingers owes that astronomical amount of money.
Fingers is cited in three tax warrants filed by the Department of Revenue in Dane County Circuit Court. The cases are 2007TW000628; 2007TW000629 and 2007TW000631. They relate to income earned by Fingers when he was a Milwaukee Brewer in 1981-1982 and 1984-1985.

Adding up the figures from the three warrants, Fingers owes $328,667 in tax, $39,989 in penalties and a whopping $1,094,022 in interest, for a total of $1,462,679 -- and growing at over $200 per day, which is probably more than the National Baseball Hall of Famer is making pitching pain relievers and putting aids.
Wow. So as it turns out Fingers doesn't owe a ton in taxes, just a crazy amount of freakin' interest. May this be a lesson to you kids out there, pay your taxes or you will die acquire a lot of interest.
