It's not quite like
Dane Cook's idea to improve NASCAR -- you know, by having half the cars go in one direction, and have the other half go in another, but it's a valid suggestion. According to Tony Jackson's
Inside the Dodgers blog,
Little threw out his idea to give the fans a new look for interleague play.
Instead of going by home team rules in interleague play, they should go by visiting team rules. That means the DH would be used in NL parks, and pitchers would hit in AL parks. His rationale: to give fans a taste of a game they never see. ``It would be an opportunity for a lot of fans of the game to see what it looks like,'' Little said.
Most people would just laugh this idea off, but is it really such a horrible idea? I live in LA, making the Dodgers my hometown team. When they play the Blue Jays next month, it will be disappointing not to see Frank Thomas in the lineup. You feel me? I'm sure anyone in an NL park would love to see David Ortiz, Travis Hafner, Jason Giambi, and some of the other sluggers in the lineup -- without another hitter being sacrificed. So is this really such a bad idea? I think not. Good idea, Grady.
