Tony Romo has a busy life. On Tuesday he was holding Carrie Underwood's purse at the Country Music Awards, and today he's been announced as one of the judges for this year's Miss Universe pageant.If you're a Cowboys fan, are you happy about this? I don't want to criticize a guy for spending time around beautiful women, but I get the sense that Romo is getting fame off the field that his accomplishments on the field haven't merited. That usually doesn't turn out well.
Every athlete has a life outside his sport, and it would be wrong to assume that just because you hear a few things about that life, the athlete isn't committed to his sport. At the same time, I'd feel a lot more confident in Romo heading into the 2007 season if I were hearing stories about how he's turning down these appearances because he's too focused on learning new coordinator Jason Garrett's offense.
