Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis is behind Michael Vick 100%. He thinks this whole dog fighting thing has gotten entirely too much attention and that we all (fans and media alike) should mind our own business."I don't know if he was fighting dogs or not, but it's his property, it's his dog," Portis told WAVY-TV. "If that's what he wants to do, do it. I think people should mind their business."Portis later added that he knows "a lot of back roads that got the dog fight if you want to go see it" and that "if it's behind closed doors, it's okay."
...Right... I'm not really sure what Portis is thinking with these statements, but apparently he's as brilliant as Vick is for having any part of these alleged dog fights. The reality is that it's not okay, it's not legal and it's not even humane. It's sick, it's twisted and it's punishable by law.
If it's proven that Vick knew or had anything to do with those dog fights, he should most certainly face criminal prosecution as well as a suspension from the NFL. And if NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell had any sense at all, he'd have Clinton Portis on the phone informing him of a major fine that's coming his way for spouting off at the mouth like an idiot.
