The unimportant stuff: Back in the fall, Couture was ISS's #1-ranked draft prospect, but has fallen to #13 due to an underwhelming U-18 Tournament performance, a lack of speed/quickness, and being seen in those uniforms... still, there's no question that he is a skilled playmaker with good size.
The important stuff: Couture (who is not related to UFC Heavyweight Champ and Hall of Famer Randy Couture, but is the son of a National Lacrosse League referee) missed 10 games earlier this season with mono... he wears the number 89 because he was born in 1989 (coincidentally, Chris Chelios wears the number 24 for the same reason)... if he could have any three people to dinner, he'd pick Willis McGahee (a football player best known for having his knee blown up in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl and for his prolific swimmers) Evangeline Lilly (best known as Kate on "Lost" and for being über-hot) and Barry Bonds (never heard of him and Google revealed nothing)... has a man-crush on Sabres co-captains (for the moment, at least) Daniel Briere and Chris Drury.
Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match: Florida isn't terribly deep down the middle, organizationally, Colorado likes picking forwards early and Edmonton could use a skilled pivot with big-time upside. The winner? I don't see a guy who was #1 in October falling to #15 in June, and would be very surprised if he lasts pasts the Panthers at the
