You thought Tom Cruise was already too involved in the life of David Beckham. And you'd be wrong:Tom Cruise is reportedly launching a ($80 million) takeover bid of friend David Beckham's new soccer club.I wonder if that was the same source who said the Premier League was "an inferior product." No doubt he would love to sing the praises of a new movie-star boss, who was seen last Sunday in the stands at Real Madrid's title-clinching match. Cruise sat between Victoria Beckham and someone that kind of looked like his wife but didn't seem to want to kiss him.
The Hollywood actor is a huge soccer fan and wants to give his financial backing to the Los Angeles Galaxy.
A source said: "To have Tom's backing would be amazing - there's no way Galaxy bosses would turn down that opportunity."
This deal all rumor and speculation for now, though it does beg the question -- if the Galaxy win a title, would Beckham reveal a Kaka-like T-shirt that says, "I belong to Xenu?" And why are all those black Crown Vics suddenly parked outside my window?
