ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is unlikely to be indicted in the ongoing investigation that began when law enforcement found evidence of dog fighting on property he owns.

The authorities have told the Falcons and league that there has not been any evidence that can be tied to Vick with the alleged dogfighting ring, the sources said. The law enforcement authorities have privately told league and team officials that at least three people are expected to be indicted but the identities of those individuals were unknown.

If this turns out to be true, it will come as a huge relief to Vick and to the Falcons. Vick has said that he rarely visited the property and wasn't aware of any dog fighting that might have been done there, but there have been many media reports indicating Vick was involved, and much speculation that Vick would face criminal charges and an NFL suspension.
