Even the casual baseball fan may remember the anthem that guided the Chicago White Sox to their 2005 World Series championship: Journey's epic ballad "Don't Stop Believing." (Click that link, Steve Perry's shirt is just to die for.)

Rumor has it Joe Crede, A.J. Pierzynski and Aaron Rowand were in a bar on the road and fed up with the music selection that night, one of them blurted out, "Play some f'n Journey!" As they say, the rest is history. Perry even showed up and traveled with the team during their World Series run. How nice of him.

Well, with the 2005 season a distant memory and the Sox currently embroiled in an eight-game losing streak, what better way to utilize the song than to turn it around on Cubs fans?

Enter Tom Latourette and Marty Gangler from the Beachwood Reporter. Head here to listen to "Please Stop Believin," a cleverly crafted ode to the eternal hope of Cub fans everywhere. A lyrical sample:
Lou's kicking dirt all over the place
Zambrano's punching Barrett's face
Hendry paid millions for this year's team
Results will be the same

For a few short days, they're in first
But don't you know, these Cubs are cursed
It's a bit overwrought with stereotypes, (although it wouldn't really work any other way) but a solid effort nonetheless.
