During the Philadelphia Eagles-Pittsburgh Steelers preseason game last night on NBC, sideline reporter Andrea Kremer revealed that Jeremiah Trotter's agent has confirmed talks with the New York Giants. But before anyone reads too much into this, it was also revealed that Trotter's agent was the one that initiated contact. Additionally, agents generally "confirm" more talks than there actually are in order to increase interest in their clients.
The Giants have already stated they have "zero interest" in Trotter, but anything is possible. Given the injuries to Gerris Wilkinson (knee) and Kawika Mitchell (groin), New York may find themselves in the market for another linebacker, but probably not a middle linebacker.
I highly doubt the Giants will consider Trotter, but I'll keep an eye on the situation regardless.
