Quick, name two things that don't go together. Like maybe video games and extended, personal sports-related essays? Try telling that to EA Sports, who apparently are sticking Bill Simmons into NBA Live '08. From SLAM: After lunch, everyone moved over to EA's motion capture facility (where they've got an autographed Chris Kaman sneaker on display) and the players-and Bill Simmons, who apparently will be in the game-all squeezed their way into their spandex suits and got ready to have their movements put into the game.No report yet if Simmons will make it onto the court, or just sit in the stands and crack wise. I can only hope that this is the beginning of a long, happy trend in gaming. I personally would start playing Madden if I could get MDS on my offensive line.
There's also no word yet if each game will be commemorated with a computer-generated Sports Guy column. Lord knows the software's already out there.
