So it's come to this: Ocho Cinco has to defend his touchdown celebrations.
Told that some commentators thought his latest touchdown celebration wasn't very funny, [Chad Johnson] said they missed the point.

"I like the critics," the Pro Bowl receiver said. "Those are the people that continue to have me doing the things that I do. For those who take what I did Monday as a joke: It's not funny. There's truth to it."
Alrighty, it's not a joke. I just thought donning a Hall of Fame jacket with FUTURE H.O.F. 20?? stitched on the back during the middle of a game was meant to be funny. My bad. Johnson added:
"Every time I say something, I do it ... All I was doing was letting you know I will be there at some point in 2000-something. I just don't know when. Laugh about it, but I'm dead serious."
I have no idea if Chad Johnson will be a Hall of Famer, but I love the way he plays, and don't think he has a malicious bone in his body. Johnson seems to genuinely like everybody -- no matter the opponent -- and if Mr. Cinco says he's bound for Canton, well, I'll take his word for it.

Of course, he may not make it out of Cleveland if he goes through with his latest promise, but like Johnson says, every time he says something, he does it. We'll see, I guess.
