Two weeks; two games; two injured offensive linemen. In the Redskins Week 1 win over the Dolphins, RT Jon Jansen was lost for the season when his leg was bending in places it shouldn't be bending. In last week's win over the Eagles, RG Randy Thomas tore his triceps and will be out at least six weeks and could be done for the season.
If I was center Casey Rabach, I'd be a bit worried heading into Week 3 versus the Giants.
Anyways, the Redskins have signed guard Rick DeMulling to add some much needed depth to a depleted line. DeMulling has played with the Colts and Lions during his 7-year career. Todd Wade has stepped into Jansen's role and Jason Fabini will take Thomas' spot. DeMulling will be the guy that now backs them up.
Originally selected by Indianapolis in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft, DeMulling spent his first four NFL seasons with the Colts, playing in 48 games with 41 starts. To make room, the Redskins cut receiver Shaun Bodiford ... which wasn't much of a surprise after the signing of WR Reche Caldwell last week.
He signed with the Lions prior to the 2005 season and played in 13 games with five starts.
