ESPN's Kelly Naqi is reporting that suspended Falcons quarterback Michael Vick tested positive for marijuana on Sept. 13, meaning he will face stricter release conditions as he awaits sentencing for the federal felony charges he pleaded guilty to.Specifically, Vick could be forced into home confinement until his sentencing on Dec. 10, he could have to submit to more frequent random drug testing, and it's possible that the judge who sentences him could take this into consideration when determining the sentence.
I do not believe Vick will ever get back into the NFL regardless, but this news also makes that less likely -- marijuana is a banned substance in the NFL, and a NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will not look kindly on the fact that Vick was using banned substances while serving his current indefinite suspension for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.
