Mike Lupica of the New York Daily News has a fairly grand column based on victorious interviews with Anucha Browne Sanders. Maybe it's careful wordsmithing -- Lupica clearly has no love lost for James Dolan or Isiah Thomas -- but Anucha doesn't sound like some woman who got over on the old boys club. She sounds... vindicated."They talked about that with me all the time, how these men, all these powerful men used to ruling with an iron fist, doing what they wanted and saying what they wanted and treating people however they wanted, they had been forced to come to court for a month and sit there and listen to these charges and have the public realize what they were really like: Isiah, James Dolan, Stephon Marbury, all of them.Browne Sanders says shortly after the Knicks canned her, and before her suit got much attention, other NBA teams wouldn't look at her resume. Being a Knicks exec was her dream job, she says, and now she'll need to find a new one.
"My sisters constantly told me that only someone of great strength could do that, and what a victory that was, regardless."
Meanwhile, the other prime subject in the case -- Zeke -- doesn't seem to grasp the big picture. Upon being asked by Rev. Al Sharpton to apologize for some questionable comments in his taped deposition, Thomas instead claims his deposition was doctored by lawyers to make him look bad. Yeah, like Zeke needed help looking bad.
